More than 6.5 million pounds of beef is being recalled nationwide over fears of Salmonella contamination.
At least 57 people across 16 states have gotten sick due to the outbreak, according to the USDA report released Thursday.
The non-intact beef packages in question from JBS Tolleson are dated from July 26 to Sept. 7 with the establishment number “EST. 267.” The beef was shipped across the U.S. and sold under the names Walmart, Showcase, Cedar River Farms Natural Beef, Gourmet Burger, Grass Run Farms Natural Beef and JBS Generic.
The USDA is worried that some of the beef is already in consumers' freezers. It's advising people to throw out or return the recalled beef.
