Singer Robin Thicke and actress Paula Patton are calling it quits after eight years of marriage.
In an exclusive statement to People, the couple said, "We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time."
But TMZ doesn't see it as mutual. The outlet began its article with "Paula Patton has finally had enough of Robin Thicke's grab assing."
Many wondered if the split had anything to do with Thicke's risque performance with a twerking Miley Cyrus at last year's VMAs. (Via MTV)
But after, Patton told NBC the performance had been rehearsed for days and she was surprised by the negative public reaction.
The pair has been married since 2005 but first met as teenagers. In 2010, their son, Julian Fuego, was born.
And despite recent headlines, the couple has had positive things to say about their relationship throughout the past year. (Via E!)
Together they spoke to Prestige Hong Kong Magazine last September. Patton said: "Life is full of peaks and valleys. Robin has always been a great person to remind me to celebrate now." Thicke added: "She's been my rock, my muse, my inspiration, and I love her. The whole way."
E! reports the last time the couple was seen together was a few weeks ago at the Grammys, where Thicke was a performer.
