We mapped mass killings from gun violence and from Islamic terrorism in the U.S. throughout 2015. Unsurprisingly, acts of terror made up only a small fraction of mass shootings, and those shootings are just a sliver of overall gun homicides this year. Statistics are drawn from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Small Arms Survey and Gun Violence Archive.
