The Federal Emergency Management Agency's administrator, Brock Long, resigned Wednesday. He's held his position for the past two years.
Long has been facing questions about his use of government resources. The Department of Homeland Security said Long improperly used government vehicles to travel to his home in North Carolina. However, in his resignation letter, he didn't say specifically why he was stepping down.
He did say in a statement, "While this has been the opportunity of the lifetime, it is time for me to go home to my family – my beautiful wife and two incredible boys."
Long said Deputy Administrator Peter Gaynor will be taking his place as acting FEMA administrator.
