A woman in Omaha, Nebraska, celebrated a birthday we can only hope to see — the big 104.

"I guess I take it a day at a time," said Hazel Smith.

Hazel Smith was born on Nov. 12, 1911. Newsy's partners at KMTV asked her the secret to her longevity. Along with faith and a good attitude, she said her upbringing could have something to do with it.

"Since we didn't have electricity, we didn't have running water. When I tell my grandkids about the Saturday night bath, they say, 'Oh, yuck!' ... Maybe that contributes to my longevity, don't take a bath too often!" Smith said.

Some doctors may disagree there, but then again, they aren't 104. So apparently she's doing something right!

The mother of four, grandmother of seven and great-grandmother of 17 has seen a lot over the years. As far as technology goes, she says the most impressive thing for her is being able to call and FaceTime a relative who lives in Russia.
