President Trump said his administration is looking into establishing a permanent U.S. military presence in Poland.

This is something Poland has repeatedly requested. U.S. troops currently carry out missions in Poland on a rotational basis

But on Tuesday, Polish President Andrzej Duda made his request for a permanent U.S. military base a little sweeter by offering to name it "Fort Trump."

The country wants U.S. troops because of what it sees as growing Russian hostility in the region. Back in May, Poland was reportedly even willing to pay up to $2 billion to see its request come to fruition.

But a senior Polish government official told The Washington Post that Poland's now willing to consider spending even more to get the U.S. to set up permanent shop.

Defense Secretary Jim Mattis told reporters that a lot of logistical details would need to be worked out before a final decision could be made.
