TripAdvisor released its annual list of the top beaches in America. The top two are in sunny Florida. Siesta Beach in Siesta Key, Florida, took the top spot. (Video via YouTube / Sarasota Agents)
And Saint Pete Beach in, surprise, Saint Pete Beach, Florida, took second. (Video via YouTube / Visit St. Pete Clearwater)
We finally see tropical Hawaiian beaches start to make the list for picks No. 3 and 4. (Video via YouTube / Precoa Escapes)
Then, we're back in Florida at Pensacola Beach for No. 5. Not much variety, huh? (Video vid YouTube / Discover America)
The awards are based on traveler reviews of the beaches.
If you want a great beach, the moral of TripAdvisor's story is go to Florida or Hawaii. Six of the top ten are in Florida, three are in Hawaii and then No. 6 goes to California's La Jolla Cove.
And of course, Floridians now have some mad bragging rights. Hey, it ain't called the "Sunshine State" for nothin'.
But maybe we should all just be happy we even have a list of our own. On TripAdvisor's list of the Top 25 Beaches in the world, the good ol' U.S. of A. didn't even make the top 10.
If you're feeling adventurous and your passport is up to date, the honor for the world's top beach went to Baia do Sancho in Brazil. Now excuse us while we go back to shoveling snow. (Video via YouTube / Interco Travel)
