Kendrick Lamar became the first rap artist to win a Pulitzer Prize. He won for his album "DAMN" on Monday.
The Pulitzer board called the album "a virtuosic song collection" and praised his ability to capture the "complexity of modern African-American life."
On top of that high praise, Lamar is the first person to win for any genre of music other than classical or jazz.
