Another company is offering to pay for employees' college tuition: Discover announced a new full-ride degree program for eligible U.S. employees Tuesday.

Called the Discover College Commitment program, it will cover the cost of tuition, fees, books and supplies for eligible employees. Workers can chose from several online bachelor's degree programs from three universities.

Discover Vice President of Training and Development Jon Kaplan says the program is an investment in its employees. He also expects the program to impact "those who might otherwise never get the chance to attend college."

Discover isn't the only major company to launch this kind of program. Walmart recently announced a new employee education benefit. And the American Hotel and Lodging Association — which represents 80 percent of all franchise hotels, including Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt and Wyndham — announced a degree assistance program for certain hotel employees.
