A growing number of sports teams are suspending their relationships with Papa John's Pizza after its founder, John Schnatter, admitted to using a racial slur during a conference call.

The University of Louisville dropped "Papa John's" from the name of its stadium, which will now be simply "Cardinal Stadium." Schnatter also resigned from the university's board of directors.

The New York Yankees and Seattle Mariners are among several MLB teams to at least temporarily cut ties, and the MLB itself also suspended a promotional deal with the pizza company.

The CEO of Papa John's released an open letter saying the company was hiring an outside auditor and would hold listening sessions with employees around the country.
