Top 3 Viral Stories Of The Week

This week's top stories feature a radio station that only plays Beyonce music, a $1,765 burger and a loopy young man who'd just been to the dentist.

This week we decided we were going to talk about it all. Food. Music. And everyone’s favorite: viral videos. Let’s get started.

First up, we’ve got a radio station in Houston that’s just playing Beyonce's music. All day. Every day.

KROI-FM was the area’s first all-news FM radio station when it started in 2011.

But this week, the station released a press statement saying “the market hasn’t shown a sustainable appetite for news radio” and that its failing ratings were causing it to go in another direction.

And that’s where Beyonce comes in. Some suspect this could be a part of a rebranding effort for, well, whatever comes next for the station.

Besides being one of the most popular and successful performers out there right now, Beyonce grew up in Houston. (Video via Sony Music Entertainment / Beyonce)

Maybe this will give Beyonce the drive to put out another surprise album quickly. After all, there’s only so many times the residents of Houston can listen to “Single Ladies.”

Next up, we were clearly thinking with our stomachs because a very special burger caught our eye. No, not that burger.

We mean this burger. Or Glamburger, as it’s being called.

Groupon teamed up with Honky Tonk, a London restaurant, to create this incredible burger to “celebrate the sale of [Groupon’s] five millionth food and drink voucher.”

So what’s in this burger that makes it so "glam"? It’s made up of some of the most expensive ingredients in the world including Kobe beef, lobster, saffron, edible gold-coated duck eggs and white truffles.

And the price? Just a cool 1,100 pounds, or $1,765.50.

It’s a far cry from the 10- and 12-pound burgers Honky Tonk features on its everyday menu.

There’s just one catch. Out of all the tens of thousands of people who entered for a chance to eat this burger, only one lucky person will be picked to actually dig in.

Finally, there’s one viral video making the rounds that shows how a trip to the dentist can really affect a person.

CODY LANPHERE: “Where’s Beyonce?”

CHRISTINE LIVINGSTON: “Beyonce couldn’t make it.”

LANPHERE: “She told me she’d be here.”

LIVINGSTON: “Well, she couldn’t make it.”

That’s 17-year-old Cody Lanphere, who had just had his wisdom teeth taken out. Clearly, he was still a little loopy from the anesthesia.

The video goes on for 12 minutes and throughout it, Us Magazine reports — err, translates — Cody saying "he is going to Africa to see the ‘Flawless’ singer, and then later he declares, ‘I am Beyonce. You can’t tell me what to do!’”

The obsession with Beyonce part might’ve come from the fact that Cody was listening to her music before his surgery, according to the video’s YouTube page.

Hey, if we had to go through the ordeal of having our wisdom teeth removed, we think having Beyonce there in the flesh to sing to us would be the perfect way to ease our pain and suffering.
