"Clueless" star and former Fox News commentator Stacey Dash is running for Congress. The actress-turned-conservative political pundit will try to replace California Democrat Nanette Barragán.
Dash is known for taking controversial stances on racial issues.
She called 2016's #OscarsSoWhite boycott "ludicrous" and said there was no need for Black History Month. She also called for an end to awards ceremonies that aim to celebrate the accomplishments of African-Americans.
Dash became a contributor to Fox News in 2014 and had a controversial run. Fox declined to renew her contract in 2017.
If elected, Dash would represent the high-minority areas of Compton, Watts, San Pedro and North Long Beach in California’s 44th District. It may be tough for the former actress to win over voters there.
Eighty-three percent of the district voted for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in 2016.
