Police in California are looking into the possibility that a woman who taught classes at an Orange County jail helped in last week’s escape that still has two men on the loose.
The three inmates escaped by cutting a hole through a wall, scaled the jail’s plumbing system to the roof and then rappelled down the side of the jail.
The Los Angeles Times reports one of the inmates enrolled in the teacher’s English-as-a-second-language class despite knowing how to speak it. The teacher has been arrested, but has not been charged.
The U.S. Navy sent a ship near islands built by China in the South China Sea Saturday as yet another move to show the U.S. considers the area international waters.
This isn’t the first time the military has done this. China’s manmade islands are highly controversial as they’re in the middle of a massive regional trade route.
