Michael Avenatti, the lawyer for Stormy Daniels, received some tough news Monday. A judge ordered him to pay almost $5 million to a former colleague, and his firm has been evicted from its offices for failing to pay rent.

Avenatti was told to pay former colleague Jason Frank $4.85 million as part of a settlement for failing to repay a debt. The judge denied his request to move the case to federal court.

Avenatti has reportedly been considering a run for president in 2020. But his financial troubles could cause issues in that area.

Avenatti's firm filed for bankruptcy in March of last year. His former colleague later won a $10 million judgment against the firm, and it has also defaulted on over $880,000 to the IRS.

Avenatti said back in July that the IRS debts were "fully resolved."

In regards to the case with Frank, he said, "Any judgment issued against me will be deducted from the over $12 million that Jason Frank owes me and my law firm Avenatti & Associates as a result of his fraud." However, he isn't pursuing a fraud case against Frank.
