A new report is putting a number on how many TSA employees still haven't received back pay they're owed from the recent partial government shutdown.
Citing an unnamed source, CNN says more than 1,000 TSA workers are waiting to be paid in full.
The issue is reportedly linked to the agency's efforts to partially pay workers during the shutdown. According to the media outlet, some TSA staffers got partial paychecks during the last pay period of 2018 in an attempt to keep them on the job, which might have affected the payroll system.
Hundreds of TSA employeescalled off of work throughout the 35-day shutdown, citing financial limitations. That caused staffing shortages, long lines at airports and security checkpoint closures.
CNN says a transcript from a TSA meeting earlier this week appears to show that the agency is working to fix the issue.
About 800,000 federal workers went without paychecks until the government reopened. At the time, the Office of Management and Budget said most furloughed employees would receive back pay by the end of January.
So far, TSA hasn't publicly commented on the report.
