Chelsea Clinton has confirmed she will be leaving NBC News.
Clinton has worked as a special correspondent for the network for almost three years.
But at a Clinton Foundation event in April, she announced she's pregnant.
And Friday Clinton posted on her Facebook page, "To continue focusing on my work at the Clinton Foundation and as Marc and I look forward to welcoming our first child, I have decided to leave my position as a NBC Special Correspondent."
In the post, Clinton thanked the NBC viewers who supported her and said it was a "privilege to be part of the NBC Family." She ended by saying she looks forward to working with NBC in the future ... was that a hint she might come back postbaby?
In a statement to People, NBC News Senior Vice President Alex Wallace also seemed to hint at that, saying, "While she will be missed, we look forward to working with her in the future."
In June, a Politico report came out saying Clinton's annual salary was $600,000, and criticism immediately followed.
A Washington Post writer called Clinton's hefty paycheck "awful," saying: "What's the pay scale for a rookie network news correspondent with no news experience whatsoever? Six-hundred thousand bucks!!!!"
And a Vanity Fair article noted her large salary caused discontent among some of her NBC co-workers.
But The New York Times included a quote from an unnamed acquaintance of Clinton who said she gives most of her salary away to charity.
But NBC won't be without a first daughter on staff. Jenna Bush Hager also works as a news correspondent for the network.
