It's that time of year when college students make their way back to campuses nationwide. But one student might look a little younger than the others this year.

KPIX"Sage Ryan just recently turned 15, and he's already a junior at UC Berkeley."

Sage Ryan — you might recognize him from his brief appearance on "America's Got Talent."

"I went down to St. James in infirmary, and I saw my baby there."

But it's the teen's green light to a university that has many calling him a child genius. Still, Sage doesn't necessarily agree with that.

KPIX reportsSage has been taking classes at various community colleges with no age restrictions since he was 11. Eventually he built up enough credits to transfer to UC Berkeley.

SAGE RYAN VIA KPIX: "It's looping the system in a way that avoids all the stuff that does not need to be put in education."

And it's probably no surprise he's majoring in theater — according to his IMDb page, he already has more than a dozen acting credits to his name, including a guest spot on medical drama "Grey's Anatomy."

He's set to co-star in an upcoming pilot of the show "Mr. Robinson," out sometime later this year.

Sage certainly isn't the youngest kid around to attend college.

This 12-year-old and his older sister became the youngest students to enroll at Berkeley in 17 years.

And there's this even younger student — an 11-year-old who began his freshman year at Texas Christian University last fall.

But it's Michael Kearney who currently holds the record after graduating both high school and college by the age of 10.

As for Sage, his mother is now reportedly advising other parents who are trying to get their kids into college at a younger-than-usual age.
