Russell Westbrook has 11 triple-doubles. Meanwhile, the rest of the NBA, approximately 380-plus players or so, have just 12 total.

With about a quarter of this NBA season over with, Russell Westbrook is still averaging a triple-double. He's the first player to maintain that kind of stat line this far into the season in more than 50 years.

And that's only part of what makes his performance so spectacular.

A triple-double is when a player manages double-digit numbers in three statistical categories in one game. Most often, it's points, rebounds and assists. Usually, NBA fans can expect one triple-double every 36 games or so.

After just 22 games this season, Westbrook has 11 triple-doubles; that's one less than every other NBA player combined.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have also won their past six contests. Westbrook has put up a triple-double in all six of those games. The last player to record six consecutive triple-doubles was Michael Jordan 27 years ago.

Speaking of legendary company, Westbrook has a grand total of 48 triple-doubles during his career. That's the sixth most in league history right behind five NBA Hall of Famers.

But the ultimate triple-double feat for the NBA's most exciting man is still a ways off. No player has averaged a triple-double for an entire season since Oscar Robertson in 1962.

While we're all hoping for Westbrook to accomplish the impossible, the man himself says his goal is a bit more simple.

"I just like to win, brother. Honestly," Westbrook said. "That's the most important part."
