You can now rent one of the most expensive homes in America.
Known as Palazzo di Amore, the Beverly Hills mansion went on the market in November for a cool $195 million.
Sitting on a sizable 25 acres of land, the mansion contains 12 bedrooms, 23 bathrooms, a bowling alley, movie theater and a 3,000-bottle wine cellar. And if you truly wanted to get away, you could just escape to the master bedroom which is 5,000 square feet — by itself.
But realistically, how many people in the world can truly afford to purchase this home?
After all, according to its listing, the monthly payment for purchasing the home is more than $968,000.
So, that may explain why the home is now up for rent. Then again, even renting is $475,000 a month. The Los Angeles Times pointed out, that's still $60,000 more than the average price to purchase a home in Southern California.
So, who can afford the home? Well the owner, Jeff Greene, is worth $3 billion according to Forbes. He purchased Palazzo di Amore for $35 million in 2007 and spent years enlarging it.
And in January, he told The New York Times he believed the $195 million asking price was "quite reasonable," saying, "More and more of the rewards for this economy are going to the rich and leaving the rest behind. So I think you're going to have more and more very wealthy people. And hopefully they're going to want houses like this."
The economy is bouncing back, and a few notable real estate purchases from 2014 back up Greene's thinking, including a Connecticut estate that sold for $120 million and a New York mansion that sold for $147 million.
So get a few — well, probably a few dozen — of your closest friends and pool your money together to rent the house for a month. Word of caution: The garage only holds 27 cars.
