President Donald Trump says he's willing to visit Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow once he gets a "formal invitation."
Speaking at a summit in Johannesburg, South Africa, Friday, Putin said he had invited Trump to Moscow. Putin said the "appropriate conditions" needed to exist in their countries first, though.
Putin also told those at the South African summit he was ready to accept Trump's invitation come to Washington, but reiterated the "right conditions for work" were needed first.
Trump and Putin held a summit earlier this month in Helsinki, Finland. Trump faced criticism from both political parties for meeting with Putin in private with no advisers present and for statements he made at a joint press conference with his Russian counterpart.
