The Supreme Court has denied a request by the Trump administration to halt a lawsuit against it concerning climate change.
Twenty-one children and teenagers filed a complaint in 2015 in an attempt to force the federal government to do more about climate change. It alleges 50 years' worth of administrations have exacerbated global warming. The case is pending in the District of Oregon.
The Trump administration asked the Supreme Court to halt the case after judges in Oregon and the U.S. Court of Appeals in San Francisco refused to throw it out. In an order out Monday, the Supreme Court called the request premature.
The Obama administration also tried and failed to have the case thrown out.
