Republican Duncan Hunter has been re-elected to the House of Representatives despite facing a federal indictment for allegedly misusing campaign funds.

Hunter represents California's 50th Congressional District. He beat Democratic candidate Ammar Campa-Najjar.

Hunter and his wife were indicted in August. A DOJ document alleges the two used over $250,000 in campaign funds to pay for personal expenses like family vacations, school tuitions and expensive meals. They both pleaded not guilty.

Hunter is a vocal supporter of President Trump and has blamed the charges against him on "politics." He also appeared to blame his wife, saying she handled most of the family finances.

Hunter is due in court again on Dec. 3. He's one of two GOP congressmen who were facing indictments Tuesday and were still re-elected.
