Here's a picture of some ginormous underwear. Most people like to call them granny panties.
And apparently they're making quite the comeback, gracing more and more American derrieres.

"They're baaack. ... In the last year, thong sales decreased 7 percent, while styles like boy shorts, briefs and high-waisted cuts increased about 17 percent," the ABC anchor said.
And, as The Huffington Post notes, this could all be a good thing tied to "a healthier perception of beauty."
An owner of "Me and You," a boutique clothing label that sold out of its granny panties with the word "Feminist" printed on them, told The New York Times:
"Most lingerie is designed to appeal to a man ... For us, that's not even a consideration. This is underwear you wear totally for you. Maybe no one will see it, or maybe you'll put it up on Instagram to share with everyone you know."
And one apparel analyst told the paper it's "considered cool" for Generation Y and millennials to wear the full-coverage knickers.
So, now we have outlets like E! telling us to put the thongs down.
We're just hoping the whole sky-high heel trend follows suit. Flats are just way more comfortable.
