A Louisiana man's diamond find has just about every married guy out there wondering why in the world we spent so much money on our wives at a jewelry store.

"Wow, check out this 2.89 carat diamond found by Brandon Kalenda from Louisiana." (Via KARK)

"He named the stone the Jax Diamond after his infant son, Jackson. Park interpreter Margi Jenks says Brandon found his diamond after only searching for about 20 minutes." (Via KATV)

Twenty minutes, 2.89 carats, zero dollars. You've gotta be kidding me.

The big find happened on March 6 at Crater of Diamonds State Park in Murfreesboro on the western edge of Arkansas where they advertise park policy on diamonds is "finders, keepers." (Via Fox News)

The inspiration to go diamond hunting came from Kalenda's mother-in-law who saw the Duggar family do it in an episode of TLC's "19 Kids and Counting."

The park noted this was the fourth diamond larger than a carat found just since mid-February. The park's interpreter released a statement saying workers plowed their diamond search field just in the last couple of months, and a recent rain washed diamonds so they caught sunlight especially well.

Margi Jenks wrote, "We encourage park visitors to look for pockets or layers on the surface of gravel, and search there. That’s exactly what Brandon was doing.” (Via Crater of Diamonds State Park)

Kalenda told park workers he'll keep the rock. No word yet on how much it's worth.
