Three and a half hours. Two feet of snow. Absolute terror. A New Hampshire man was buried under a snow pile in front of his own home.
"I heard kind of a snap sound and turned just in time to see the snow coming off the roof, so it was kind of like an avalanche effect," homeowner Drew Mullins told WBZ-TV.
But homeowner Drew Mullins was determined.
"I'm not going out this way," Mullins told WFXT.
At first, no one was home. When Mullins' daughters and his wife, Deanna, got home hours later, she realized something was off.
"Deanna heard a muffled sound," the WFXT reporter said.
"And I heard it again, and I just knew. ... I tried to dig him out the best I could ... with my bare hands," Deanna Mullins said.
Mullins' wife called 911, and Peterborough, New Hampshire, firefighters dug him out in about 20 minutes. Mullins was treated and released from the hospital the same day.
And it looks like while Mullins got a lucky break, the winter weather in the area isn't letting up anytime soon, with several snow showers expected this week.
