Police in California took a man into custody late Friday night after he reportedly threatened to shoot workers inside the Los Angeles Times building.
"It started a little before 7:30 when people inside the building got a text message saying someone was going to start shooting. ... No shots were fired." (Via KERO)
The man has yet to be identified, and there are still many other unknown details. But KNBC reports the 28-year-old did not work for the Times, but rather for a company called Vxi Global Solutions that rents out space in the building.
"According to some coworkers the suspect was recently let go from his job and apparently became upset making threats to harm and kill people. Co-workers say those threats were mounted both in person and via text." (Via KTLA)
"Co-workers telling police the man was depressed and showing at least one co-worker a bag of bullets. Police did not find a gun however." (Via Fox News)
The Los Angeles Times reports the building was put on lockdown as the LAPD detained the suspect. Witnesses told the paper the man said he "didn't mind killing someone and said he didn't want to go to jail."
No one was hurt in the incident.
