More than 100 seniors at a Tennessee high school won't be allowed to participate in graduation activities because they took a senior prank too far.
"The school is beautiful, and it was just extremely trashed. ... It was not a prank in my view. It was vandalism," said Monroe County School Board member Marcia Standridge.
Vandalism so gross, outlets warned viewers about what they were about to see.
"Urine, ketchup and baby oil on the walls. And crickets and chickens released into the hallways."
But not all senior pranks are this severe — some can also be clever and harmless.
Buzzfeed highlighted some funny ones. For instance, last year, some Maryland seniors hired a mariachi band to follow their principal around for the day. And a class of California seniors staged a wedding outside their school.
But there were apparently two waves of students who participated in this recent prank. The first wave apparently made harmless pranks, but the second wave of students were the ones who allegedly took things too far. Still, all of the students are facing backlash.
"For the kids that just did innocent things, it's not fair. It really isn't," said a student at Sequoyah High School in Tennessee.
"When you make certain choices, you have to be willing to face the consequences," said Standridge.
The school's principal has been suspended indefinitely without pay as officials investigate his involvement with the prank.
