Wildfires in Southern California continue to burn as firefighters work to gain control of the blaze. (Via KGTV)
CNN reports eight fires have destroyed 10,000 acres of land. High winds have impacted firefighters' efforts, spawning so-called firenadoes in San Diego County.
"Firefighters from all across Southern California make their way down to San Diego county ... they say they may be here between 24 and 48 hours or as long as it takes to make sure that the fires are out in San Diego county." (Via KFMB)
Fox News says authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire. "Investigators tell us they're treating this as arson possibly. They don't have facts to back that up, but they're going to treat it like that until they can prove otherwise."
KGTV reports authorities have two individuals in custody in connection to brushfires in the area. What's more, "crews in Carlsbad also found the body of someone earlier today in a transient camp at the Poinsettia fire."
California State University in San Marcos has closed, and the graduation ceremony scheduled for Friday and Saturday has been moved to the following weekend.
More than 100,000 evacuation notices have been sent. California Governor Jerry Brown has declared a state of emergency in the county. Fox News reports federal air tankers have been sent to the area to assist with fighting fires.
