One team's Olympic gold medal hopes took a hit Sunday night — thanks to a wardrobe malfunction.
Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron represented France in the ice dancing competition. Shortly after their short dance began, a clasp on Papadakis' dress came undone. She struggled to keep her costume on throughout the performance.
This is about more than just a costume falling off. Papadakis and Cizeron were among the top contenders for the gold medal, and Papadakis admitted worrying about her top affected their performance.
The French team is second after the short dance, behind gold medal favorites Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir of Canada. The competition concludes with the free dance Monday night.
