Facebook Is Being Called Out For Potential Age Discrimination

But Facebook doesn't agree with that assessment.

Facebook has come under scrutiny for discrimination again. This time, it's based on age.

A joint ProPublica and New York Times report says Facebook uses ad targeting that allows businesses to target certain age groups for job ads while excluding others. Experts question whether the practice is age discrimination.

But Facebook isn't the only culpable party here. Several notable companies like Amazon are using the platform as a means to do the same thing.

Although if you ask Facebook, there's no issue here at all.

A post on its site called This Time, ProPublica, We Disagree says, "Used responsibly, age-based targeting for employment purposes is an accepted industry practice and for good reason: it helps employers recruit and people of all ages find work."
