It's like we looked into the Mirror of Erised. Harry Potter fans everywhere — your desires are coming true — the world is getting a new story about the boy wizard! ....Well, kind of.

J.K. Rowling has penned a 1,500 word short story to give a glimpse into the lives of Potter and friends, now in their 30s.

Written from the perspective of tabloid writer and Potter nemesis Rita Skeeter, this update on Rowling's website, Pottermore, gives all the juicy details on the lives of Harry, Ron, and Hermione.

Rowling also shared the article with NBC's website for those not subscribed to Pottermore. To give the brief version, Harry is beginning to show streaks of gray in his black hair, his wife Ginny is only succeeding in her reporting career due to her husband's fame, Ron is balding and now manages a joke shop, and Hermione is thriving at the Ministry of Magic.

According to The Telegraph, the piece is also a parody of the tabloid press, writing "Rowling appears to have another motive behind her writing. The story is a thinly veiled attack on the tabloid press, for whom the author feels little love."

Despite the fact that the last book in the series was released seven years ago, the reaction to the short story is proof that Pottermania is still going strong.

The short story takes place during the Quidditch World Cup. The Daily Mirror points out that the fictional sport is so popular with fans of the series that a real world version has been created.

Then there's the fact Universal Studios in Orlando recently expanded its popular Wizarding World of Harry Potter attraction.

Rowling has continued her writing career with a new crime fiction series written under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith. She also serves as the screenwriter for a new film series based on a Harry Potter spin-off book, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them."
