Uber won back its license to operate in London in the the Westminster Magistrates' Court.
The court approved the ride sharing service for a 15-month probationary license on Tuesday.
As Newsy previously reported, Uber appealed a decision made last year by the city's transportation authority to not renew the company's operating license. At the time, Transport for London said Uber was not "fit and proper" to operate in the city, citing safety and security concerns. But Uber's lawyer told the court Monday the company has passed multiple city inspections and undergone a number of changes, and the judge agreed.
In the ruling, the judge said Uber had since proved to be "fit and proper."
London's Mayor Sadiq Khan said he supports the ruling.
"What's clear is that the decision we made was the right one. Uber have changed, radically, their approach — globally and also in London," Khan said.
Uber said in a statement that it was pleased with the decision and will continue to earn the trust of London's transportation authority.
