By the end of the year, Walmart shoppers across the country won't have to leave the comfort of their homes to stock their kitchens.
That's because Walmart is expanding its online grocery delivery service to more than 100 metro areas in the U.S. Currently, the service is only available to shoppers in six markets, including Phoenix; Denver; and Orlando, Florida.
Here's how it works: Customers select and buy their groceries either online or through the Walmart Grocery app. After store associates put together the orders, they're delivered to the desired locations.
There are a couple stipulations: Customers must purchase at least $30 worth of products, and there's an additional delivery fee of almost $10.
Companies like Amazon and Costco offer similar grocery delivery services. Late last year, Target — another Walmart competitor — acquired a same-day delivery company to expand its delivery capabilities.
