The Securities and Exchange Commission is no longer investigating ExxonMobil for allegedly misleading investors.
The investigation has been going on since 2016. Officials at the SEC were looking into whether the company was honest about its knowledge of its impact on climate change and how much environmental regulations would cost the company.
The investigation reportedly included a review of more than 4 million pages of documents. The company has committed to cutting its methane emissions 15 percent by 2020.
