A private jet crashed at a small Colorado airport Sunday, killing at least one person amid strong winds and snowy conditions.
The accident happened around 12:30 p.m. local time at the Aspen-Pitkin County Airport. News of it broke on Twitter with several witnesses saying the small jet plane burst into flames as it crashed. (Via CBC)
ABC reports three people were on board and that one passenger was killed, one person has major injuries and the third person has moderate injuries.
"It's registered to a Bank of Utah trustee out of Salt Lake City, Utah. ... The plane originated in Mexico, had to make a stop in Tucson, Ariz., before it crashed there in Aspen." (Via MSNBC)

Comedian Kevin Nealon, who was at the airport, said: "Horrible plane crash here at Aspen airport. Exploded into flames as it was landing. I think it was a private jet."
Citing the Federal Aviation Administration, KMGH reports the plane was a Bombardier Challenger 600.
Weather conditions at the time of the crash included high winds with gusts reaching 34 miles per hour and cloudy skies. (Via National Weather Service)
