Israel And Egypt Have Reportedly Teamed Up To Fight Terrorists

It's a surprising move, considering the countries have fought each other in three wars.

Israel has conducted more than 100 airstrikes over the past two years in Egypt — with Egypt's permission.

The strikes were carried out by unmarked Israeli drones, according to The New York Times, and often took place often more than once a week in the Sinai region.

Jihadists in Egypt have reportedly killed hundreds of police officers and soldiers in the region, and Egypt has seemingly been unable to stop them, prompting the alliance.

And it's an unlikely one. Israel and Egypt have fought against each other in three wars, and that doesn't often lead to alliances like this one.

This cooperation signals hopes for the countries' strained relationship.
