Members from the main Syrian opposition group flew to Geneva Saturday to join in the Syrian peace talks.

The delegation has made it clear the main point of joining the peace talks is not to discuss peace with President Bashar al-Assad, but to discuss humanitarian issues like ending the government’s siege of Madaya or ending Russian airstrikes.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said Saturday Russian airstrikes have killed nearly 1,400 civilians since Russian fighters began bombing runs in late September.
