No matter where you're flying, or when, if it's on United Airlines, there is a team of people in this room assigned to track your flight. And they have a massive task to get you where you're going safely and on time. Occasionally, things go wrong, and when they do, this team has to clean up the mess.
Lately, that logistical dance hasn't been any easier. United, like two other airlines in the U.S., had to leave more than a dozen planes in the wings. And in a choreography like this, that's no small number.
