'Tis the season of surprise Christmas layaway payoffs.
And it's already starting. An anonymous good Samaritan dubbed the "layaway angel" paid off $20,000 worth of other people's layaways at a Toys R Us in Massachusetts.
"I said, 'I'm really sorry; I don't understand." And she said 'Someone came in and paid off all the layaways.' And so, my eyes filled with tears ... and I just thought that good news needs to be shared," a woman told WFXT.
WFXT reports it's the same anonymous woman who did the same good deed last year.
Layaway payoffs seem to pop-up every holiday season. At this Burlington Coat Factory in Virginia, several layaway angels showed up to take care of business.
"We are here to pay away your layaway," people with the organization Pay Away the Layaway said.
"Oh, how kind of you, what a blessing. ... Amazing, surreal. I can't even believe that this exists," a woman told WTTG.
And Massachusetts must be a giving state. In Boston, a woman walked into a thrift store and paid off all unpaid layaway orders for $345.66.
