A GoFundMe page for former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe's legal defense has raised more than $200,000 in its first six hours.
The page was set up after Attorney General Jeff Sessions fired McCabe for lack of candor. McCabe claims his ousting is an effort to discredit him before he talks with special counsel Robert Mueller. McCabe also says his firing is part of a larger assault on the FBI and the U.S. intelligence community by President Donald Trump and his allies.
The website says any leftover funds will be donated to charity.
