Boston officials say two firefighters are dead and more than 10 people are injured from a nine-alarm building fire in the city's Back Bay neighborhood Wednesday.

The fire broke out around 2:45 p.m at 298 Beacon St. The Boston Globe says it started in the basement of a 4-story apartment complex.

“It was just a wall of thick, black smoke coming across as the wind off the Charles carried it over beacon street and on into the Back Bay, making this a very difficult fire to fight.” (Via WBZ-TV)
