A 16-year-old Pittsburgh boy has been charged after police say he shot and injured three students as they were leaving school for the day outside Brashear High School.

Anjohnito "AJ" Willett Jr. was taken into custody Wednesday night and charged as an adult with four counts of attempted homicide, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment after he allegedly shot three students and attempted to hit a fourth as they headed for their cars. (Via WHP-TV)

Willett is a student at Brasher. He was also charged with possessing a firearm as a juvenile. Police initially had six people of interest in custody but now believe Willet was the only shooter involved in the incident.

Authorities believe the shooting could be linked to a drug-related robbery inside Brashear last month, during which Willett was reportedly beaten. (Via WFMZ)

Local police say they couldn't file charges after the Oct. 18 robbery because Willett refused to identify his attackers, saying he would take care of the situation himself. (Via WFSB)

"I don't want to say a retaliation, but we'll say that it could possibly be linked to that incident that happened on the 18th, from what the school police are telling me." (Via WNCT)

According to a Pittsburgh police spokesperson, the shooting victims' wounds are all non-life threatening. She said two of the victims were shot in the shoulder and the foot and one was grazed in the head. All three were males between the ages of 16 and 17.
