Usage for Facebook has fallen amid attempts by the company to change what content its users see.
Users spent about 5 percent less time with the site overall. It might not sound like much, but CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a statement Wednesday, "In total, we made changes that reduced time spent on Facebook by roughly 50 million hours every day."
Facebook took flak last year for its role as a platform for fake news and for enabling the so-called "filter bubble." It's begun implementing changes to cut down on issues like "abuse and hate" on the platform.
Zuckerberg says one tactic, cutting back the number of viral videos in users' news feeds, is the reason for the usage decline.
