Starbucks is bringing back some old favorites.
After hearing complaints from customers, the coffee giant is tweaking its breakfast menu and will be selling slices of banana, pumpkin and lemon loaf cake again.
Starbucks revamped its menu last year after acquiring San Francisco-based bakery chain La Boulange in 2012 for a tasty $100 million. It began offering items such as spinach pastries and almond croissants, which it plans to have in all U.S. stores by the end of September.
And though the new items are reportedly healthier, customers complained they were too expensive and too small.
Starbucks has changed up its breakfast line after complaints before. In 2008, the Seattle-based company revamped its breakfast sandwiches after customers said the smell was overpowering the aroma of coffee.
This comes at a critical time in the breakfast food market.
Even Taco Bell is getting into the "First Meal" business, launching a new breakfast line which includes a "Waffle Taco" and "A.M. Crunchwrap."
McDonald's, the traditional fast food breakfast king, hit back by offering free coffee for a limited time. It's also testing pastries in some locations.
Starbucks' COO Troy Alstead told Bloomberg, food accounted for 20 percent of the company's sales in the past fiscal year. That's up from 19 percent the past two years.
