Uber's flying car concept seems to be one step closer to reality.
During a conference on its proposed "flying taxi," Uber revealed that it's working with five other companies to develop possible aircraft designs and software.
And the government's getting involved, too. NASA is planning to run simulations of Uber's air taxi ride-sharing network. And the Army Research Lab is helping the company develop quieter rides.
Uber is hoping to demonstrate its aircraft by 2020 and is aiming for 2023 to launch a commercial operation.
