It's a moment that took our breath away ... and not for a good reason. Two paragliders collided in midair in Colombia.
In a blog post about the ordeal, Al Jones described the terror of watching his wife plummet toward earth:
"All sorts of things were going through my mind (all bad) – I can't loose (sic) my wife. I fought to control my breathing as I found myself getting tingly and dizzy from hyperventilating."
After Al's wife, identified as XT, became entangled with another woman, XT managed to pull her reserve parachute. Both women did make it out of this alive and well. XT landed in a tree where she was hanging upside-down when she was rescued.
As Al put it, his 2015 New Year's Eve was the most memorable ever, "but for all the wrong reasons."
