The prime suspect in the Natalee Holloway case, Joran Van der Sloot, will be extradited to the U.S., but not until 2038.

26-year-old Van der Sloot was convicted in January 2012 of killing 21-year-old Peruvian student Stephany Flores. (Via ABC)
ABC reports Van der Sloot confessed to Flores' murder, saying the young woman used his laptop without his knowledge and found information linking him to Holloway's disappearance.
Holloway went missing in May 2005 while on a high school graduation trip to Aruba. NBC reports Holloway was last seen leaving a bar with Van der Sloot and getting into a car with Van der Sloot and his two friends.
Van der Sloot was not charged with the killing of Holloway, but he is wanted in the U.S. for defrauding and extorting her mother in 2010.
Van der Sloot promised to lead Holloway's mother to her daughter's body in exchange for $25,000, but FOX reports Van der Sloot took the money and ran.
Van der Sloot has given multiple explanations for Holloway's disappearance, including the teen girl suffering a seizure before he dumped her body in the ocean as well as selling her for $10,000 to a man on a boat. He now denies both of those accounts. (Via NBC)
