Super Bowl XLIII: Pretty Boring, Huh?

The Seahawks lead from just 12 seconds into the game, and Denver never even got close.

So, not much of a Super Bowl, huh? I mean, don't get us wrong, there was at least one exciting moment.

Unfortunately we can't show it to you, but the Seahawks were more than happy to tweet a description: "Bad snap. False start. Penalty declined. SAFETY!"

That pretty much sums it up. Seattle scored two points just 12 seconds into the game. No team has ever scored that early before in Super Bowl history. It was an exciting start, and most likely made this headline from The Onion come true in homes across the country.

"Entire Party Explaining What Happened On First Play To Friend Who Just Arrived."

Unfortunately, that was pretty much the only thrilling moment, and things didn't get much better for the Broncos, who got absolutely dominated. They didn't even get on the board until the end of the third quarter. (Via Sports Illustrated)

Deadspin called it "an absolute bloodbath," and Wikipedia updated to list the Seahawks as Super Bowl champions while most of the fourth quarter was left.

Heck, even the cold weather that was supposed to provide some excitement failed to materialize. (Via Twitter /@StormTeam4NY)

But those who stuck it out till the end saw a great play — after the game. Esurance bought the first post-game ad to announce a $1.5 million giveaway. All you had to do was tweet using their hashtag, EsuranceSave30, and about 500 people every second did just that. Pretty clever, Esurance. (Via Adweek, Twitter / @Esurance)

In all seriousness, congrats to the Seahawks and their head coach Pete Carroll who, according to the Los Angeles Times, became only the third coach to ever win both a college national championship and a Super Bowl.
