Should Nonsmokers Get More Vacation Days Than Smokers?

An e-cigarette company asked more than 1,000 people if they thought nonsmokers should get more time off work.

Should you get extra vacation days if you don't smoke? That's one question an e-cigarette company asked more than a thousand people, and many smokers and nonsmokers said yes.

Halo Cigs, the company behind the survey, said the average smoker spends the equivalent of six days a year on smoke breaks at work.

About 80 percent of nonsmokers who responded to the survey said they should get at least some extra vacation days since they don't take smoke breaks — and more than 60 percent of smokers agreed.

The idea isn't new, though. In 2017, one company in Japan started giving nonsmokers six extra vacation days a year.
