Jennifer is a news correspondent for Scripps News, specializing in political, economic and environmental reporting. She is based out of Tampa, Florida and focuses her storytelling on explaining complicated issues in a way that impacts daily life.
Jennifer has received awards for her reporting. She was an International Women’s Media Foundation grant winner covering immigration in Colombia and winner of a Suncoast Regional Emmy for a local Tampa Bay history series.
Before joining Scripps News, Jennifer worked as a senior video producer at the Tampa Bay Times, where she contributed to two Pulitzer Prize-winning investigations. She also was a creative digital producer for Fusion and a local government reporter for The Islander.
Jennifer earned her master’s degree from the University of California Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism where she reported on commercial fishing in West Africa and Florida, the Zika virus in Puerto Rico, veterans in Chicago and abandoned mines in Arizona. She is a University of South Florida graduate and began her journalism career as a reporter for her hometown paper.
